Questions arise around acting National Police Commissioner Phahlane

Following recent reports of National Police Commissioner while Riah Phiyega, President Jacob Zuma has appointed Forensic Services Divisional Commissioner Lieutenant General Johannes Khomotso Phahlane.

Phahlane will act as the National Police Commissioner while Phiyega faces a commission of inquiry.

The presidency says her suspension is pending any decision that is made upon the recommendations of the board of inquiry into allegations of misconduct.
