Commercial attorney Trudie Broekmann is planning a class action against time-share abuses against consumers.
She demands the full return of clients’ “investments”, as the contracts are illegal and don’t comply with the Consumer Protection Act.
Broekmann has thus far legally terminated the contracts of 48 clients of time-share suppliers Quality Vacation Club, African Club Innovations (ACI), Multi Destination Club, Dream Vacations, Lifestyle Vacation Club and Flexi Club.
There are 740 000 timeshare owners in South Africa, according to a 2011 Grant Thornton study.
The Money Show's Bruce Whitfield interviewed Broekmann.
